Design at GESS gives students the opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills in a real world environment. Our workshops are set up to teach students the fundamentals of product design and engineering. Students from grade 6 to 12 learn about material and manufacturing technologies as well as how advances in science have led to improved products and lifestyles. Students are now designing and developing products from prototype to packaging using traditional and modern methods.
For our new GESS campus, we would like to increase the size of the studio to approx. 800sqm and equip it with the latest technology. With extra funding, GESS will be able to bring the Design & Technology Studio to the next level by adding new machines and technology thus impacting more students and training the future design engineers of tomorrow. The cost has been estimated at S$220,000.
The difference your gift can make:
- 30 Thinkpad laptop computers: S$1,800 each
- 3 latest generation 3D printers: S$50,000 each
- 1 vacuum press: S$2,000
- 2 dust extractors: S$2,500 each
- 1 metal working lathe: S$10,000
